Yogataveller, Gozo, Malta - 11th April 2009 - By: Aubrey Lampkin

With Kylie Twible and Janna Blizeeva:

Traveling around the world alone teaching yoga in a variety of exotic locations (some more remote than others) certainly has its perks! But it can also be a little lonely at times - even after doing lots of 'I am happy being alone' matras. So it's such a treat when my students also become my friends, which happens most of the time because our Yogatravellers are so cool!

Hanging with Kylie and Janna this week was an example of this. We shared special times together both inside and outside of the yoga studio. I continuously feel so lucky to be surrounded by successful, independent, open-minded and spiritual people with my work.

Shoulder-standing in our cozy studio.

Practicing outside in the evening.

Smiling is part of the pose.

Janna, Kylie and I at dinner at Karolina's in Xlendi.

The beginning of the week started out blustery and cool, but then the sun came out just in time for a stunning boat trip to Comino island...

Aboard our private boat to Comino.

A familiar view.

Janna and I on roof of WWII memorial on Comino.

And, to play yoga outside.

Janna's first solitary headstand - caught on camera by Kylie!

Play-time (don't do this at home).

We even met up with a couple fellow yoginis traveling on the island, who joined us for a fabulous dinner at Il Panzier in Victoria one evening.

Hi, A very good Blog with nice pictures. Never tried Yoga myself. The Panzier Restaurant is situated up the street from my home. I see many people going in and they all come out rubbing their full-up bellies, he he. Really good Sicilian restaurant in a very quiet and now pedestrianized area.

I have a Blog about Gozo History, Maltese Folklore - legends, customs and I'm now adding Lessons in Maltese speaking. Your readers might find it worthwhile and interesting too.

PS. You're not going to believe this, but some nights ago we saw a ghost right opposite the Panzier Restaurant (which was closed at the time). A figure of an old woman wearing an old-fashioned heavy veil and long skirt standing quite still staring straight at the restaurant door. My daughter saw her first when she came home at about 10.30 pm. She was not terrified or horror-striken but petrified with fear. We went upstairs and looked from the bedroom window and I managed to take a photo of the ghost, but in all that panic I did not set my camera for a 'night shot' so the photo is not too clear.
